Chapter 84

Aaron’s POV
The battlefield was quiet now, but my anger burned hotter than ever. I stood among the ruins of my plan, the bodies of roques and warriors scattered across the ground. Victory had been mine–it should have been mine. The Firemoon Pack was crumbling. My rogues had turned their warriors into mindless beasts, forcing them to fight against their own. I had watched them tear through their ranks like wolves through sheep.
And then she ruined everything.
I paced in the witch’s lair, my fists clenched so tightly my knuckles turned white. The air was thick with the scent of her herbs and magic, but it only made my rage worse.
“How did this happen?” I growled, slamming my fist into the wooden table. It splintered under the force, but I
didn’t care. “We had them! Victory was in my hands, and then–then that light-” My voice broke with fury.
What was that light, and how did it turn them back?”
The witch stood calmly by her cauldron, stirring the bubbling liquid. Her expression was maddeningly
indifferent, as if my failure didn’t matter to her.
“I told you it wouldn’t be easy,” she said, not even looking at me. “You underestimated Mira.”
I spun to face her, my chest heaving. “Don’t talk to me about underestimating anyone! You said the potion would work! You said they would become unstoppable!”
“And they did,” she said, finally meeting my gaze. Her eyes were sharp and cold. “Your rogues turned into monsters, just as I promised. The potion worked perfectly.”
“Then why did they change back?” I snarled. “Why are they wolves again? Why is Mira still alive?” My voice echoed through the room, filled with frustration and rage.
The witch sighed, as if my anger bored her. “Something has changed,” she said, her tone cryptic. “Something
about Mira.”
“What do you mean, ‘something has changed“?” I demanded, stepping closer to her. “Speak plainly, witch!”
She held up a hand to silence me and leaned over her cauldron, staring into the swirling liquid. Her dark eyes seemed to glow as she muttered something under her breath. The room grew colder, and a strange energy filled the air. I stood there, waiting, my patience wearing thin.
After a long moment, she straightened and turned to me. Her expression was grim, and for the first time, I felt
a sliver of unease.
“Mira’s powers have awakened,” she said, her voice low. “She is stronger now–much stronger. That light you
saw? That was her.”
I stared at her, disbelief coursing through me. “What are you talking about? Mira has no powers. She’s just-” I stopped myself, but the words echoed in my mind. She was just Mira. Or so I had thought.
The witch smirked, but there was no humor in it. “You’re wrong, Aaron. Mira is far from ordinary now. That light wasn’t an accident. It was her bond with her wolf, fully awakened. She is connected to something greater–something even I can’t predict.”

Chapter 84
My mind raced, trying to make sense of her words. Mira, powerful? It didn’t seem possible. She had always been strong–willed, stubborn even, but this? No. It had to be something else.
“Maybe your potion was flawed,” I said, my voice cold. “Maybe you’re the one who failed”
Her eyes flashed with anger, and she stepped closer to me. “Do not blame me for your incompetence” she snapped. “The potion was perfect. It turned your rogues into unstoppable creatures. But Mira–she is the one who stopped them. She undid what I created. That’s not my failure, it’s hers.”
I glared at her, but deep down, I knew she was right. Mira had done this. Somehow, she had ruined everything
“And there’s more,” the witch said, her tone turning sharp. “It’s useless for you to go after her now”
I frowned. “What are you talking about? Of course I’ll go after her. I’ll finish this myself if I have to.”
The witch shook her head, her expression almost pitying. “You don’t understand. Mira is no longer a virgin.”
Her words hit me like a punch to the gut. I felt my blood boil, my vision turning red. “What did you just say?“! growled, my voice low and dangerous.
“She is no longer pure,” the witch repeated. “Whatever bond she had, it has been consummated. Even if you sacrifice her now, it won’t end your curse.”
The air seemed to leave the room. I stared at her, my mind struggling to process what she had just said. “No,” I said, shaking my head. “You’re lying.”
“I have no reason to lie to you,” she said calmly. “This is the truth, Aaron. Your curse cannot be broken now. Not by Mira, not by anyone.”
Rage exploded inside me. I roared, grabbing the nearest object–a chair–and hurling it across the room. It shattered against the wall, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside me.
“Mira has ruined everything!” I shouted. “She has taken everything from me! I was supposed to be the most powerful Alpha, the one to rule them all. And now-” My voice broke, and I clenched my fists, trembling with fury. “Now I’ll never break this curse.”
The witch watched me with cold eyes. “You’re right,” she said. “You won’t. But that doesn’t mean you’re
powerless.”
I turned to her, my chest heaving. “What are you talking about?”
“You can’t break your curse,” she said, “but you can still take your revenge. If you can’t have power, make sure Mira never finds peace. Destroy everything she loves. Make her regret ever crossing you.”
Her words ignited something dark inside me. If I couldn’t end my curse, I would make sure Mira paid for what she had done. She had taken my future, my destiny–but I would take everything from her in return.
“You’re right,” I said, my voice cold and steady. “If I can’t break the curse, I’ll make her life a living hell. She’ll wish she had never been born.”
The witch smiled, a cruel glint in her eyes. “Now you’re thinking like a true Alpha.”
I nodded, my resolve hardening. Mira might have won this battle, but the war was far from over. I would find her. I would make her suffer. And I would make sure she never knew a moment of happiness again.
This wasn’t over. Not by a long shot.
