I know that every Wolf and Lycan in the restaurant has heard what I said, and even though the majority of them didn’t grow up in a Pack, they know that what my Mother tried to do is unacceptable.
They also know that Alpha Bradley, as an Alpha himself, should have known that she needed my permission to hand those papers to my Alphas. Knowing Wolves and Lycans the way I do, this little piece of information will be public knowledge within the hour.
Let’s see how Alpha Bradley will like it when another Alpha or one of his business partners confronts him with this indiscretion, because his reputation is the most important thing to him. And just like every other Alpha, he won’t like it when someone questions him about today’s events.
A male waiter arrives at the table with my order, and reluctantly, Alpha Bradley steps aside. “Alpha, my colleague is at your table with your order,” the waiter says as he places my surf and turf in front of me.
I’m glad I always sit at a table for two, or they might have decided to join me – and that is definitely the last thing I want. Just the thought alone has Fortune gagging in the back of my head, and we both would like to keep our appetite because we always enjoy our meals when we’re in a hotel from this chain. Luckily for us, they have a hotel in every town and city where I have a boutique, which makes it easy to plan where and what we eat.
It takes a moment before my Mother realizes I will ignore them, and she follows her Mate back to their own table. Through my eyelashes, I see Alpha Bradley and my Mother getting strange looks as they walk away, and I smile to myself as I hear a few comments from the people around me. It sounds like some of them are even on the phone, telling the other person what happened.
The hotel manager walks into the restaurant, and most conversations go quiet again, each person hoping to hear what the manager has to say to whomever he’s here to see.
“Miss D’Angelo, the manager greets me as he reaches my table. “I was informed about some commotion near your table, and I want to apologize for the disturbance,” he says.
I look up at him and ask if he was responsible for the disturbance – which we all know he wasn’t. When he shakes his head, I say, “Then you don’t have a reason to apologize, but I appreciate the effort. The issue resolved itself, and I doubt it will occur again.” The manager tells me that he has arranged another hotel for me to stay in, and I know which hotel he’s talking about – it’s only a block from the shopping center where my new boutique is located.
Knowing there’s nothing in my room I don’t want anyone to see, I give him permission to have two Servants pack up my belongings.
“Once you’re done with dinner, you can go to the reception, and they will make sure you get your luggage. They will also have your bill ready tonight’s dinner is on the house,” the manager says before walking away. I have to stifle a smile at the angry look on my Mother’s face, not that Alpha Bradley looks any happier.
As I finish my surf and turf, I send Pauline a message: I need that information. I know I will have it before 1 finish dinner, and before this night is over, I will have completed half of my assignment.
After a waitress clears my table, it only takes a few minutes before another waitress places a latte macchiato in front of me. I look out the window as I enjoy my latte, with a very satisfied Lycan resting in the back of
my mind.

you trouble? the message reads. I know who he’s talking about, and I send him a message back to let him know I’ll be moving to another hotel, along with the explanation why.
Call me when you get there, he replies, and I know he will try to get some answers that Dax refused to give him – not that I can blame him.
I would try to get answers if I were in his shoes, and i would probably succeed too. But knowing myself, Mack won’t get any answers from me – though I won’t stop him from trying.
I’d like to hear the kind of questions he’s going to ask me. just as a way to prepare myself for the questions I’ll get at the meeting with my Alphas and the rest of their leadership – and of course, our former leadership. Damn, I almost forgot to mention my Father.
The most questions will come from him and Colter. Neither of them ever suspected I was an Assassin, and knowing now that I have my Lycan, they might already suspect that I’m not just a designer.
My phone dings again as I walk to the reception, and I smile when I see that Pauline has sent me everything my team has found so far. I’ll read it the moment I arrive at the other hotel.
“Miss D’Angelo, your car is out front., and your luggage is in the trunk,” the receptionist tells me as she hand me my bill. I sign at the bottom line and tell her to send it to the usual address.
I hear someone cursing and swearing behind me, and when I look over my shoulder, I see my Mother and Alpha Bradley in the company of his Son. Okay, now I’m really confused. He doesn’t look like Alpha Bradley, and I wonder why anyone would believe a female went with him willingly.
He’s probably about six feet tall compared to my 5’8“, so not really the kind of guy I would go for – and than without mentioning the fact that he probably weighs over 200 pounds. None of those 200 pounds are muscle, and he’s wearing sweatpants and a shirt that’s about two sizes too small – not that that would be enough to make a female rum in the opposite direction. No, it’s the ice–cold look in his eyes that would accomplish that..
I make it to my new accommodations without a problem, and the moment the door closes behind me, I ca Mack. He picks up after in rings twice.
“How’s the new place?” he asks the moment he answers, and I tell him the room is fine that it’s even cikassen to the shopping center.
“Why didn’t you stay there in the first place?” he asks, and I know he’s been wondering the same thing.
“Why would I pay almost triple the amount for exactly the same room just because it’s closer no she shopping center of Albarr?” I ask him in return.
“Why did Dux sciendule a meeting?” he asks next, and I tell him it has to do with the cancellendi hunxit wish my Mother
“Alpha Dust wants you all to know what happened, and maybe your Father or mine can explain the wary Alpha Beadley reacted. I know there might have been a personal reason, and I would like to know for sure- especially if I get an invitation to a Luna Ceremony in the future,” I tell him, and that is a complete lie.
“I mam, i know what he did to Luna Elyse years ago, and I would like to know if that could be the reason he was so forte soward Alpha Dax. Or was it because he planned on drugging me during Ranch, as you suspected be would try one day?” I say. For the next few minutes, Mack asks me more quaessages about what happened and what was said, but I keep my answers vague.
