Chapter 12
_Killian’s POV_
Today was my engagement day. I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my suit and feeling a
mix of excitement and pride. Soon, Sophia would be my fiancée, and next month, she would be
my wife. With her by my side, I would finally take my place as Alpha, just as I had always
dreamed. Everything was perfect, just the way it was meant to be.
I ran my hands through my hair, smoothing down the gel and styling it carefully. As I looked at
myself, I thought about how long I had waited for this. Sophia and I had been together for
years; she knew me, she understood me. We were perfect together.
A knock sounded on the door, pulling me from my thoughts. My father’s voice came through.”
Killian, it’s time. Let’s go.”
I opened the door to see him standing there, his expression warm but stern. “You ready, son?”
I nodded. “More than ready.”
He clapped me on the back. “Good. Let’s make this a night to remember.”
We walked to the car, and on the drive to the engagement venue, my father kept telling me
how proud he was, how happy he was to see me taking on this responsibility. Hearing him say.
that made my chest swell with pride. I was doing everything right. I was fulfilling my duty to
the pack, and I was choosing the woman I loved.
When we arrived, I stepped out of the car and took in the decorations. The venue was
beautiful, draped with silver and red banners, and flowers lined the walkway leading to the
stage. Golden lanterns hung from every corner, casting a warm glow over the crowd. Everything was perfect, just like I had imagined.
Then I saw her–Sophia. She was standing near the stage in a red dress that fit her perfectly,
flowing down like fire. Her hair was done in loose curls, framing her face. She looked…
breathtaking.
I walked over, my heart pounding as she smiled up at me. “You look incredible, Sophia,” I
whispered, barely able to keep my voice steady.
Sophia’s cheeks flushed a little as she looked down. “You don’t look so bad yourself,” she
teased, reaching up to adjust my tie. “Are you ready for this?”
“More than ready,” I replied, leaning down to brush a quick kiss on her cheek. “Tonight is all

about us.”
She smiled, and I could see the happiness in her eyes. This was it–the start of our future together.

We took our seats on the stage as my father stood before the crowd, his voice commanding everyone’s attention. “Welcome, everyone. Tonight, we celebrate not only the bond between Killian and Sophia but the future of our pack. This union is a symbol of strength and loyalty, and I am proud to stand here tonight as we welcome Sophia as part of our family.”
The crowd cheered and I felt a surge of pride. My father gestured for us to stand. It was time for the ring exchange. I took a deep breath and turned to Sophia, pulling the ring from my pocket. My hands were steady as I held hers, slipping the ring onto her finger. It felt right–like everything was falling into place.
“Sophia, with this ring, I promise to protect you, to stand by you, and to love you for the rest of our lives,” I said, my voice firm but full of emotion.
She looked up at me, her eyes bright with tears as she slid a ring onto my finger. “Killian, with this ring, I promise to be by your side, through everything. I promise to support you as Alpha and to love you with all my heart.”
We smiled at each other, and as we faced the crowd, I could see everyone smiling back. My father nodded approvingly, and I felt a surge of pride again. This was the future I wanted–me and Sophia, leading the pack together.
We sat down as my father continued his speech, talking about the strength of unity, the power of love, and the importance of loyalty. The feast began, and as everyone started to eat and
drink, I took Sophia’s hand in mine, kissing her fingers softly.
“I love you so much, Sophia,” I whispered, my voice low and full of emotion. “I can’t wait to
spend the rest of my life with you.”
She looked at me. Her eyes were warm and filled with love. “I love you foo, Killian,” she
murmured, leaning in closer. “You are my everything. And soon, we’ll be Alpha and Luna. It’s
all I have ever wanted.”
Her words made my chest swell. This was everything I had dreamed of, everything I had fought for. The weight of the world felt lighter with her by my side, and for the first time, I truly
felt like I was ready to lead.
As the night went on, I could feel the happiness radiating through me. People came up to congratulate us, offering well wishes and support. My father patted my shoulder, his eyes full

of pride, and my mother gave Sophia a warm hug to welcome her officially.

But amidst the celebration, I couldn’t shake a faint, nagging feeling at the back of my mind. For a brief second, an image of Mira’s face flashed before me–the sadness in her eyes that day, the pain she tried so hard to hide. I felt a pang in my chest, but I pushed it aside. This was the future I wanted. I was with Sophia, my choice, my love. And I couldn’t let anything else
distract me from that.
Sophia pulled me back to the present, her smile lighting up my world as she squeezed my
hand. “Are you happy, Killian?”
I looked into her eyes and nodded, letting the last traces of doubt slip away. “I am. I really am.”
And for tonight, that was enough.
