Chapter 10
I didn’t go to the watchtower. Instead, I turned back toward shore rapidly.
The beach was littered with debris and body parts, but no signs of life.
“Randy…”
“Randy!”
“RANDY!”
Nothing but silence answered me.
“Sarah!”
I spun around: “Ran-? Charles?”
Charles rushed over with several police officers:
“Are you okay? Are you hurt? Aye, Sarah?”
I grabbed him by the throat:
“It was you!”
In both lifetimes, besides Randy, Charles was the only person with access to my personal things!
The police quickly pulled us apart:
“Ma’am, we’ve already apprehended the person.”
A man was brought forward in handcuffs.
My eyes widened in shock-
It was the doctor Charles had introduced me to.
“His name is George Adams. Same last name as yours.”
At the police station, they slid a DNA test report.

! Chapter 10
My father kept the existence of this illegitimate child a secret until my parents unexpectedly passed away.
George lost his last chance to be officially recognized as an Adams.
The entire inheritance went to me, he had not a penny of the fortune.
So he used Charles to get close to me.
I was always welcoming to friends, which gave George the perfect opening.
The slow–acting poison he chose was colorless and tasteless, designed to build up over months and mimic the symptoms of death from overwork.
With my non–stop workaholic schedule, it was the perfect cover.
Unfortunately for him, Randy had uncovered the plot and gathered crucial evidence.
The silent murder turned into a desperate chase.
What Randy had forced into my mouth must have been the antidote…
But now, he was gone.
The cops hadn’t even found his body.
“We found one survivor at the scene. Can you identify the man?”
The officer passed over a photo.
“That’s my fiancé!”
