Chapter 7
Randy was slumped in a lobby chair, looking like he’d pulled an all–nighter.
The moment he spotted me, he shot to his feet.
“What are you doing here?”
“I…” his voice was rough with exhaustion. “I just needed to see you.”
“I’m fine. Go home and take care of Beth. She’s your wife now.”
“I didn’t marry her.”
“That doesn’t change anything between us. Don’t worry, whatever debt you had been fully repaid.”
But for days afterward, every time I came downstairs, I’d find him waiting in the same spot.
I finally lost my patience:
“Just go home! This isn’t going anywhere!”
“It’s okay.”
He sat there with his arms crossed, looking like a kicked puppy:
“I won’t get in your way. I just… want to see you a little longer.”
“But the hall was crowded, and everyone kept asking me. You’re making this really awkward for me!”
Finally, he nodded and walked out.
After that, he disappeared from the lobby.
But a bright red Ferrari started appearing outside my apartment building.
Whenever I passed, he’d follow me with those same sad eyes.
It was driving me crazy-
In my previous life, we’d practically killed each other. Now that I’d stepped aside, why was he sudde…y so persistent?
I knocked on his car window:

“Go back to the States. I’m not coming with you, no matter how long you camp out here.”
“I’m not leaving.”
“I… finally found you.”
When his eyes met mine, they were so intense that my heart stuttered-
That… was the exact look from my previous life.
Had he been reborn too?
But… if he had also been reborn, shouldn’t he have run straight to Beth?
“I can’t stop you from sitting in a public street, but stay out of my business.”
His eyes brightened, and he nodded eagerly: “Deal.”
The next day, I called Charles to pick me up.
When Randy spotted Charles downstairs, he practically leaped out of his car:
“Sarah!”
Charles and I turned around.
Randy took a step forward, then visibly remembered his promise and froze in place:
“You’re going with him?”
I nodded: “With you stalking me 24/7, I’m uncomfortable. I’d rather Charles drive me.”
“Sarah!”
“Don’t go with him…”
Watching his familiar emotion, I became more certain-
He had been reborn too.
