Chapter 5
The wedding day arrived soon.
Randy Wilson stood clutching a bouquet of roses, anxiously waiting for Sarah to emerge from the bridal
suite.
He’d dreaded this wedding for months.
However, standing here now, he felt an unexpected flutter of anticipation.
When had his resistance started to fade?
Maybe it was when Beth after being rescued, told the police during her statement that Sarah had absolutely nothing to do with those loan sharks.
The memory of shoving Sarah down into the rain haunted him–how his eyes had been locked only on Beth, completely missing Sarah’s knife wound. That moment replayed in his nightmares.
Watching Sarah unconscious in the hospital, he’d been terrified she might never wake up.
That’s when he swore to take care of her for the rest of his life.
All of these because he owed her.
If she wanted marriage, fine, he’d marry her.
If she wanted Miami, they’d have a beach wedding.
Even if it meant being trapped in a loveless marriage forever, he’d made his peace with it.
The door swung open, and Randy’s grip tightened on the roses.
A glimpse of white wedding dress appeared, and his heart stuttered.
“Randy…”
Beth’s shy smile greeted him instead.
“You?”
“Surprise! What do you think?”
“Mr. Wilson!”
